A special Day

As I sit here in the dark typing, I feel my whole world is asleep. I am not needed quite yet. A set of sea blue eyes that match my own are still closed tight, still sleeping and dreaming. This is a special day for me. It marks the day one year ago when Heavenly Father gave me one of his beloved children to me. The day I got to deliver my sweet Barrett. Angels surrounded me that day in the Hospital room. I felt the support of all the women who have gone on before me. Women who whispered to my heart "you can do this Erin, your body was created for this, only you can bring this child into this world." I felt the support all around me. I felt it in my heart, on my womb, my face, my shoulders. Every time I felt "I dont know if I can do this" I felt their Love surround me. And my sweet husband was there holding my hand, my one true rock that held me to this earth. I had a beautiful natural delivery. I felt every moment, every step in the process of this journey in bearing my son. He was not alone in his pain of being born. I felt it along with him. For me, I wanted that. I needed that. Call it what you will. This is my story. Everyone has their way..this was mine. I wanted to share this journey with my son. I wanted to hear my body tell me the things I needed to do. And I did. I could have been all alone in the woods and had my son. It was like something woke up inside me. My body. It said okay Erin I know what to do. Trust me. And I did. There is a confidence in me that there wasnt before I became a Mom. It is a inner flame that was ignited inside me. I realized just how special being a woman was, being a daughter of God. I realized how amazing our bodies are. I was pulled beyond the limits I thought I had of pain, tiredness, patience. I went further than I ever thought I could. What obstacle in this life could ever hold me back again? After Barrett was born, I wouldnt let them take him away right away. I needed my son. And he needed me. We had just shared our closest bonding experience we would ever have in this life. I looked down at him. I looked into those eyes and  my heart burst. "I know you, Ive seen you before. You are my baby, and you have always been mine."

My sweet Barret,
Happy Birthday my little Bear. I Love you to the Moon and Back.
You are my joy in this life.
I hate to see my baby leaving but I Love watching the Big boy you are turning into.
I have never laughed so much with anyone than I have with you. You are such a sweet spirit. I already see your personality in life coming out. You Love everyone. No matter who we meet you do anything you can to make them smile and laugh. You give me kisses and hugs when I need them most. Ive always marveled that you know when mommy is needing them. You are the very best part of me sweet boy.
Love Momma Bear.

Fall Hair Color

I am wanting to go darker for Fall/Winter. Still deciding what to do. Im naturally a dirty blonde and I have the ombre style going on with my hair right now graduating from dark blonde on top to super blonde at the ends. Im loving it but if your gonna go dark the winter season is the time to do so.

I Love Ashley Greene. Here she is a warm mid town brown with lighter highlights up front.

How can you look at this picture and not want to be a redhead? I LOVE LOVE his gorgeous color.

Brown Ombre style. So cute! Love that she didnt make the ends super blonde. I hate that.

ahhh..decisions decisions

Around the World Waterfall Braid

Im trying to decided what tutorials to do for Hair Braids so people can get out of the same braided hair do all the time. Here is a fun braid that is similar to the waterfall braid I showed last week but this braid actually wraps around the whole back of the head and gets lower as you braid. Cute eh? Id love to hear your comments on which braids you'd like to learn. Also I know I have super long hair but these braids can be done on shorter hair as well.

When in Doubt wear lipstick

I've always thought my best feature on my face was my eyes. Therefore Ive usually focused on them when doing makeup and just slapped on some nude or beige color lipgloss. Dont get me wrong I love a good lip and I often use some beautiful bold colors on others when doing makeup. But for myself I usually dont. With all the new gorgeous fall colors in lipsticks coming out right now I decided to buy myself an Urban Decay lipstick yesterday in the color Gash. Can lipstick change your life? It just Might. I put it on in the store and loved it. Tip: Dont EVER EVER EVER ever ever ever buy a lipstick without trying it on. It's a waste of time and money. Sometimes the colors you would never pick up are the ones that look the best on you. I promise you the sales ladies want you to try makeup on. They arent looking at you like your lame. When I got home the hubby said "Your lips are Pink" (well a deep berry but you cant blame a male for that kinda mistake) I took it as a compliment since he doesnt notice those kinds of things.  Plus hubby is finding he has a love for berry colored kisses on his face :) Score one for the wife.

Put on some Lipstick and Pull yourself together. -Elizabeth Taylor

A good tip when wearing a richly hued lipstick is to wear minimal makeup on the rest of your face. I used a shimmering nude color on my eyelids and did cat eyes with a black cream liner and mascara.

The Curvacious Christina Hendricks

I have to dedicate a post to Christina Hendricks. I Love the gorgeous Bombshell. Most of you might know her from her role in the TV show Mad Men where she plays Joan Harris, a sassy secretary in the early 1960's. This woman is paving the way to a new generation of beauty. She is a size 14 actress and said she was constantly turned down for parts because of her size until Mad Men came along. Last year she was praised physical role model by the equalities minister Lynne Featherstone

She is beautiful, smart, and curvy. She makes me feel proud to be a woman. Plus she has killer style. She makes me want to dress in vintage 60's clothes every day.

I am a Mother

I Love Makeup, and Crafts, and Fashion. I enjoy posting pretty things on my blog for I like pretty things.  In my religion we have Thirteen Articles of Faith. They are the fundamental beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. In the last article of faith it says "If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." I believe Beauty and Motherhood are one. I feel that my blog is a great way for me to express myself and my Hobbies.  And I have a husband and baby boy who support me needing a creative outlet 100%. In fact right now my little bear is sitting on my lap playing with my hair as I type. I have the best job in the world.

Waterfall Braid

My sister and I have been obsessed with braids the past year. They are not only the easiest hair style out there but they are perfectly me in every way.  And Braids are so Timeless. We just learned how to do the waterfall braid and my sister was happy to oblige me with doing mine today. (you can do it to yourself but who turns down having someone else do their hair?)  Ill post a tutorial on this braid later. Its super easy and fun.

Full View - Is this not gorgeous?

The name waterfall braid comes from how the left side of the braid falls instead of picking it up as your braiding it

Its so different I Love it
